Eli Vazquez, is an LA based award winning writer/director, TEDX, SXSW Speaker and multi-million viewed digital storyteller originally from Chicago, IL.

Eli is a former senior writer/director for BuzzFeed’s Latinx digital brand Pero Like where he worked with brands such as Samsung, Meta and AT&T. In 2018 he was chosen as a fellow in the HOLA Mexico Film Festival’s, Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today Program, in 2021 he was chosen as 1 of 10 National Hispanic Media Coalition Television Writing Fellows and in 2022 he was made a Netflix, LALIFF Afro-Latinx Film Fellow.

Eli’s film BODIES WILL TUMBLE AND ROLL was selected by Netflix + LALIFF’s Afro-Latinx Fellowship and produced in support by Google. Where it has recently won best horror at the 2023 Glendale International Film Festival and best U.S. Short At The 2023 South Texas International Film Festival.

QUINCE TIL’ INFINITY, a short film recently won him best director at the 2023 Denver Underground Film Festival.

Eli currently is working w/ Disney+ in development of a project as well as adapting BODIES WILL TUMBLE AND ROLL into a feature film.

Eli primarily focuses on coming of age comedies surrounding BIPOC voices in worlds audiences never seen before.

Aside from filmmaking Eli created an advocacy brand in SELF-HYPE where he and his team produce content, work in brand partnerships and create digital experiences geared to normalize personal development in the BIPOC community.
